3D 2 x 18 Field Shoot 27 April 2008 Report and Results

Yes! we have just had our first shoot at Gypsey Bridge Wood. Eveyone said they had a very enjoyable day, and thought it was a very nice little wood with a lot more potential for some very interesting shoots. Although we didn't set the targets out at very long distance there were still a few tricky ones that fooled some people.

Everyone said it was good to be back in the woods again where the 3D's looked more natural in their surroundings. I am sure our Den would have approved if he was here to see it, God bless him.

As you know there is an equestrian centre close by to where we are shooting. I think one or two people are worried about safety but Peter Richardson the owner said he would not let the horses come within half a mile of us. Indeed we did not see a single horse and rider all day. Peter did ask us to put warning signs up just in case, also I asked the archers at the beginning of the shoot that if they saw any people on horse back to be patient and polite. The wood is a good distance away from the equestrian centre so I think everything will be OK.

I would like to say a big thankyou to all members who gave up their time to come and help set up the course, I could not have done it with out you. Also thankyou to Gladys for doing registration, she does a good job.

I am looking positively forward to future shoots at Gypsey Bridge and appealing to all field shooters in the club to do like wise.
